Alaska's Boardwalk Lodge
The Showplace of Alaskan Lodges
This storybook hand-hewn log lodge is in
a class by itself. Alaskan Angler Magazine named
Alaska's Boardwalk Lodge the 1991 Alaskan Lodge of the
Year. Located in Thorne Bay, on the eastern shore of
Prince of Wales Island, Alaska's Boardwalk Lodge accommodates
20 guests in beautifully appointed rooms with L.L. Bean
bedding and accents. Boardwalk is an Orvis endorsed
lodge offering a myriad of fresh and saltwater fishing
opportunities.

Equipment
Join our
experienced guides on 26’ Olympic Ocean
cruisers fitted with heated cabins and restrooms.
Tangle with the fighting Chinook (King Salmon) and
experience the thrill of hauling in a monster
halibut that can range over 100 lbs. Orvis
endorsed fly fishing guides will supply the
materials and instructions for you to tie your own
flies or you may purchase free-tied flies in the
Lodge tackle shop. Depending on the time of the
year, your guide can also set out pots for
Dungeness crab. Although we only take enough large
male crabs to eat during your stay, the traps are
always filled within a matter of hours.

Activities
Boardwalk is
nestled in the sheltered cove of Thorne Bay. There
isn’t another full service lodge within 50
miles. There are more than 23 lakes ,
streams and rivers within an hour's drive from the
lodge. Thorne River and Stanley Creek produce one
of Alaska’s best spring steelhead runs. 5
species of salmon, halibut, cutthroat and rainbow
trout, ling cod, rockfish, and Dolly Varden are
some of the many fish you can expect to fish for.
Boardwalk can also arrange canoe trips or fly-outs
to some of Alaska’s most beautiful areas,
including the Misty Fjords National Monument where
anglers may land on isolated lakes and cast in
absolute solitude. For those adventurous guests
wishing to experience the wilder side of Alaska
sportfishing, Alaska's Boardwalk Lodge can
arrange a day trip out of Craig on the Western
side of Prince of Wales Island.

Remote Fly-out Trips
