Ferry Travel
The Alaska Marine Highway System

Harbor between April and October, usually one trip per
month. The Kodiak Terminal provides information and
can book reservations on all AMHS ferries; however,
they specialize in the Aleutian Chain. Reservations

Weather & Clothing
Summer high temperatures in the
Aleutian Islands range from 45-75ºF
during the months of June, July and August. Cool,
wet, and windy conditions are common, especially
when chartering out on the Bering Sea and Pacific
Ocean.
For maximum comfort, functional/warm layers of
clothing are recommended. Bring rain gear and rubber
boots and/or comfortable, sturdy, water-resistant
hiking shoes/boots. Gloves will keep hands
warm/protected, and polarized sunglasses will cut
down on glare when out on the water.
Windproof/waterproof outer garments, rubber
boots/hiking boots, and a warm pair of socks will
aid in keeping your body and feet dry.
Dress is casual and functional around the hotel and
in our restaurants.

 |
Medications
Should you require medication on a
regular basis, it is best to have the prescription
(bring an extra supply) available to you in your
carry-on. You are always welcome to notify the hotel
staff if you have special needs or considerations
during your stay with us. Anyone who suspects they
might have a problem with motion sickness should come
prepared with a remedy.
|
 |
Packing
Pack as compactly as possible to avoid
excess baggage charges for fish boxes on your return
flight.
|
 |
Travel Insurance
We strongly encourage you to purchase
cancellation insurance, available through your
Alaska's Inside Passage Resorts.
