Within the Wild Adventure Company
We offer sportfishing at both Redoubt
Bay Lodge and Winterlake Lodge and a variety of fly-out
sportfishing options, including heli-fishing excursions.
You can fish for Salmon, Dollies, Grayling, and Rainbows
or experience a Class III whitewater river with hiking,
wildlife viewing, and spectacular glacial views. Many of
our float trips offer opportunities to see bears and our
25 resident huskies are waiting to meet you.

Redoubt Bay Lodge
Redoubt Bay Lodge, located at the
entrance to Lake Clark Pass, offers the only
accommodations within a 171,000-acre critical habitat
area. This small, rustic lodge sits on a small knoll
overlooking Big River Lakes, a chain of lakes whose
waters lead to the Big River and on to Cook Inlet.
Located 50 minutes SW of Anchorage, the flight via
floatplane offers spectacular scenic views of the Cook
Inlet and the western edge of the Kenai Peninsula.
Guests enjoy sportfishing for salmon, kayaking around
the lakes, hiking, and enjoying the natural beauty of
the Redoubt Bay Critical Habitat area. We offer
excursions into Lake Clark National Park, flight seeing
through the Pass and to Redoubt Volcano, as well as
other adventures in the surrounding areas. A resident
bear population inhabits the Redoubt Bay Lodge area, one
of the densest bear populations in the state. Guests
have the opportunity to see bears that come to the
waters to fish for salmon.
Three small lakeside guest cabins, a cozy hand-hewn log
main lodge, and world-class staff and service make the
stay at Redoubt Bay Lodge a memorable addition to your
Alaskan adventure.
Winterlake Lodge
The Winterlake Lodge lies 198 trail
miles NW of Anchorage along Alaska's historic Iditarod
Trail. The lodge sits on 15 acres overlooking Winter
Lake, a finger-shaped 2-mile lake where we land by
floatplane in the summer and ski plane in the winter.
Open year round, the lodge is the Finger Lake checkpoint
along the Iditarod Trail and is open for winter
adventure activities from November to April.
This secluded lodge has spectacular scenery with views
of the Trimble Glacier and the beginnings of the Rainy
Pass. Wolverine Mountain offers intriguing hiking and
wildlife viewing, including many species of Alaska
birds, wildflowers and berries that are difficult to see
in other locales.
We invite you to come and meet our dogs and learn how to
drive your own team! Our lodge-based dog excursions can
be as vigorous or easy as you like. Combine your stay
with cooking classes with Kirsten, cross-country skiing,
snow shoeing, or other lodge activities.
