Packages

Prices are per-person, based on 24-hour periods. Typical lodge departure times are 8:00 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 5:00 p.m., but alternate departure times can be arranged. Prices include transportation to and from Lake Hood from major hotels and the Anchorage International airport, air transportation to and from Within The Wild destinations, lodging, meals, individual guide service and use of lodge equipment.

Extended day (An example of an extended day is from after breakfast to p.m. departure, usually about an 8-hour extension to a package).

Winterlake Lodge Iditarod Trail Tour

A full day excursion from Anchorage. Visit a backcountry Alaska Lodge! Explore the historic Iditarod Trail, hike around the lodge, canoe the lake, and experience a gourmet Alaska salmon barbecue.

Private Lodge Option

This option allows privacy for large parties or families at Winterlake Lodge. This is a complete guided package which includes meals, lodging and guide service. It does NOT include airfare to and from the lodge. Winterlake Lodge private option is available for up to 10 guests. Additional guests require an additional fee.

Winterlake Lodge Helicopter fly-out

Combine the serenity of a small private lodge with fly-out fishing, glacier hiking or rafting to the hot spots of the day with your private guide. 2 days/2nights/2 fly-out trips. (2 person minimum).

Prices do not include fishing license (available for purchase at the lodge), taxes, alcoholic beverages or gratuities. Daily lodge rates do not include any airfare charges incurred for additional fly-outs or flights from one lodge property to another.

Winterlake Lodge Hiking Excursion - 2days/2nights

Explore the high country of the eastern side of the Alaska Range. Fly into Winterlake Lodge and enjoy an exhilarating hike along the Iditarod Trail. Canoe around the lake and look for blueberries or try your luck at gold panning near Red Lake. In the afternoon, take off on the Wolverine trail to your camp-out where you will sleep under the Alaskan stars. The second night is spent at Winterlake Lodge in one of our hand-hewn log cabins; the comforts of world-class cuisine, quiet serenity, and Alaskan backcountry beauty is at it's best at Winterlake Lodge! (2-person minimum).

2007 Wilderness Adventures

Grayling Creek: Float/Fishing Adventure: 3 days/2nights: Fish for Salmon, Dollies, Grayling, and Rainbows in this small, emerald green beauty. The adventure includes a short, difficult hill to hike, but the rewards are that this river is rarely visited. Start at one lake and be picked up by floatplane at another. This river is an excellent choice if you only have a small amount of time to spend in the Alaska wilderness. $1,895.00 PP.

Tlikakila River: Float/Fishing/Hiking Adventure: 4 days/4 nights: Fly into Summit Lake at the top of Lake Clark Pass and float for four days along this Class III whitewater river. Opportunities for photography, hiking and wildlife viewing are excellent. Spectacular glacial views and opportunities to view glacial calving abound. $2,950.00 PP.

Happy River: Float/Nature Exploration - 3 days/3 nights: The Happy River runs near Winterlake Lodge and offers incredible scenery. The Happy River is a rarely floated jewel in Alaska's High Country. This river is one of Kirsten's favorites for wild berry exploration. $2,287.00 PP.

THE DETAILS: These trips originate from Anchorage, our gateway city. A qualified Within the Wild Adventure Lodges guide always accompanies guests. Food, necessary gear, and all fishing and camping equipment is provided. Suggested gear list of personal items will be provided. Please allow for the potential for weather delays on either end of your expedition. Within The Wild Adventure Lodges is a fully insured outfitter; however we recommend the purchase of low-cost trip insurance. All float trips have a minimum of 2 persons.
